Potassium(K)-macroelement.

Potassium is a mobile element with an average content in plants of about 1%. It is not part of any organic compound. Due to its high mobility it is associated with the generation of membrane electrochemical gradient. It is the main ion that balances the negative charges of inorganic and organic ions in the cytoplasm. Potassium makes up a significant part of the osmotic potential of cell sap.
